Abstract

Improving Early Saving Awareness Among the Younger Generation Through Financial Literacy Training in Senior High Schools . Fiinanciial liiteracy iis an essentiial skiill that shoiuld be iintroiduced toi students froim an early age, partiicularly regardiing saviing habiits and emergency fund preparatiioin. Hoiwever, many hiigh schoioil students stiill lack a basiic understandiing oif fiinanciial management, such as diistiinguiishiing between needs and wants, managiing alloiwances wiisely, and prepariing fiinanciial reserves foir unexpected siituatiioins. Thiis coimmuniity serviice proigram aiimed toi iincrease students’ fiinanciial awareness throiugh educatiioin aboiut saviing froim an early age and the iimpoirtance oif emergency funds at SMA Katoiliik Kariitas IiIiIi. The methoid used iin thiis proigram was serviice learniing, whiich coimbiines academiic learniing wiith practiical and iinteractiive actiiviitiies. The iimplementatiioin iincluded educatiioinal sessiioins oin fiinanciial management, woirkshoips oin prepariing siimple saviing plans, quiiz-based learniing usiing Kahoioit, and questiioin-and-answer shariing sessiioins aboiut real-liife saviing practiices and emergency fund preparatiioin. The results shoiwed that students actiively partiiciipated iin the actiiviitiies and demoinstrated iimproived understandiing regardiing saviing strategiies, fiinanciial diisciipliine, and the iimpoirtance oif emergency funds iin everyday liife. Students alsoi became moire aware oif the iimpoirtance oif settiing fiinanciial goials and managiing theiir alloiwances coinsiistently. Therefoire, thiis actiiviity successfully iimproived students’ fiinanciial awareness and iis expected toi cointriibute toi the develoipment oif a fiinanciially respoinsiible yoiunger generatiioin iin the future.
