Edukasi Risiko Trading Sebagai Strategi Peningkatan Literasi Keuangan: Studi Pada Calon Nasabah Di Perusahaan Perdagangan Berjangka
Abstract
The expansion of financial technology has made futures trading platforms increasingly accessible to the public. Nevertheless, easy access is not always accompanied by adequate understanding of market volatility, leverage, margin calls, and psychological bias. This gap increases the possibility that prospective customers will make speculative decisions that emphasize potential returns while overlooking possible losses. This community service program aimed to strengthen the financial literacy of prospective customers of PT Glori Investama Berjangka Surabaya and to examine transparent risk education as an ethical education-based marketing strategy. The program was delivered through workshops, interactive discussions, market simulations, and personal mentoring. Evaluation relied on initial observation, participant responses during simulations, discussion notes, and reflective assessment after the educational sessions. Quantitative pre-test and post-test scores are not reported because the underlying score sheets were not available for verification. Qualitative findings indicate that participants developed a more realistic understanding of market volatility, leverage risk, stop-loss discipline, proportional position sizing, and emotional control. Participants' questions also shifted from a primary focus on potential profit toward risk limits and the consequences of trading decisions. Transparent risk communication supported a more balanced perception of futures trading and strengthened trust in the company. These findings indicate that trading risk education can function as consumer protection and as a professional, ethical, and sustainable relationship-marketing strategy.
