The request for this training was submitted by the Parish Priest in response to the current state of catechesis at the community level, which still faces limitations in Bible deepening methods. The activity was carried out over two days through lectures, interactive discussions, and small group practice. The material provided included an understanding of the role and responsibilities of Bible facilitators and an in-depth understanding of the Lectio Divina method, which consists of the stages of lectio, meditation, oratio, contemplatio, and action. Participants not only received theoretical material but also practiced directly in groups, guided by a team of trainers, using predetermined Bible texts. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in participants' understanding of the Lectio Divina method and their ability to practice it in groups through a more focused and reflective faith-sharing process. Participants also demonstrated a readiness to apply the method in catechetical activities at the Community Service Center (KUB) and in their respective communities. Financial literacy among adolescents remains an important concern amid the increasing influence of digital lifestyles and social media trends on spending behavior. This community service activity was carried out through a Service Learning program at SMA Santa Agnes with the aim of introducing students to wise financial decision-making and increasing awareness regarding consumptive behavior. The activity involved 36 tenth-grade students and was carried out through interactive presentations, discussions, quizzes, and simple simulations adjusted to students’ daily experiences. Materials presented included the importance of managing pocket money, distinguishing needs from wants, preparing simple financial plans, saving habits, and understanding the risks of impulsive buying. During the activity, students were encouraged to share their experiences in managing money and responding to social pressures related to consumption trends. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation of participation and students’ responses during discussions and quizzes. The results showed a 100% attendance rate, while 14 students, or 38.88% of the total participants, actively participated in the discussion and question-and-answer sessions. The quiz evaluation also indicated that the students were able to understand the material presented. Overall, this activity helped students understand the importance of setting financial priorities, recognize consumptive behavior, and develop greater awareness of managing money more wisely. The activity demonstrates that financial education connected to real-life situations is easier for adolescents to understand and can help foster more responsible financial habits.
Jennifer Lynn Silverio Jessica Marlyn Kezia Laetitia Junaidi Krystalinna Lindsey Sutanto Nanik Linawati Copyright (c) 2026 KOMUNITA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat 2026-08-28 2026-08-28 5 3 1527 1538 10.60004/komunita.v5i3.872 Sosialisasi Pencegahan Dan Penanggulangan Wabah Penyakit Mulut Dan Kuku (PMK) Pada Sapi Perah Di Dusun Banyudono https://www.journal.pelitanusa.or.id/index.php/komunita/article/view/877
Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a highly contagious livestock disease that poses a serious threat to dairy farming and can cause significant economic losses for farmers. Banyudono Hamlet, a dairy farming community, previously experienced an FMD outbreak that negatively affected livestock productivity and farmers’ livelihoods. This community service program aimed to improve farmers’ knowledge and capacity in preventing and controlling FMD through educational outreach and mentoring activities. The program employed a participatory socialization approach combined with persuasive education, interactive discussions, field assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The activity was conducted on August 5, 2024, involving 30 dairy farmers in Banyudono Hamlet and was carried out in collaboration with the Central Java Provincial Livestock and Animal Health Service. The educational materials covered FMD characteristics, transmission routes, clinical symptoms, biosecurity practices, the importance of vaccination, and proper management of infected animals. The results showed a high level of participant engagement and a significant improvement in farmers’ understanding of FMD prevention and control. This increased awareness was reflected in the adoption of preventive measures, including regular disinfectant spraying, improved sanitation practices, and the implementation of farm biosecurity protocols. The program successfully encouraged behavioral changes among farmers in maintaining livestock health and supporting independent FMD control efforts. Therefore, the socialization and mentoring activities proved effective in strengthening farmers’ capacity to prevent and mitigate FMD outbreaks, contributing to the sustainability of dairy farming and rural economic resilience.
Zibran Permadi Tri Aji Copyright (c) 2026 KOMUNITA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat 2026-08-29 2026-08-29 5 3 1539 1548 10.60004/komunita.v5i3.877 Inovasi Website Galeri Tani: Pemberdayaan Usaha Tani Dan Literasi Digital Petani Kromong https://www.journal.pelitanusa.or.id/index.php/komunita/article/view/897
Information technology growth drives agricultural transformation, especially in rural areas with limited market access and low digital literacy. SMA Bina Jaya Kertapati Palembang, as the partner of this community service program, faces two major challenges: low oral health literacy and limited access to attractive and accessible educational media. This community service initiative by Sriwijaya University developed an interactive, media-based educational approach designed to increase students’ understanding of proper dental and oral care. The program included the production of a 5–6-minute animated educational video titled “Sehat Gigi dan Mulut”, which delivered essential materials on dental anatomy, correct toothbrushing techniques, recommended brushing times, and the negative impacts of poor oral hygiene. Implementation involved classroom-based video sessions, guided discussions, hands-on toothbrushing simulations, and mentoring. The activity involved 31 second-grade students of SMA Bina Jaya Kertapati and received active participation throughout the educational sessions. Students engaged in guided discussions, raised relevant questions regarding oral and dental health, and participated in supervised toothbrushing practice. Observations during the practical session indicated that students were able to follow the recommended toothbrushing steps after facilitator guidance. These immediate responses reflect positive engagement and practical understanding of oral hygiene rather than quantitatively measured changes in knowledge or behavior. This program supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), contributes to higher education performance indicators (IKU), and aligns with the Impactful Dikti-Saintek agenda. The findings strengthen the evidence that interactive digital media combined with practical demonstration is an effective strategy for improving adolescent oral health literacy.
Sulistiawati Sulistiawati Mellani Cindera Negara Trisnawaty K Bambang Nuryadi Copyright (c) 2026 KOMUNITA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat 2026-08-29 2026-08-29 5 3 1571 1579 10.60004/komunita.v5i3.769 Peningkatan Literasi Finansial Remaja: Edukasi Mengenai Pengenalan serta Cara Pengelolaan Keuangan yang Bijak Kepada Siswa SMA https://www.journal.pelitanusa.or.id/index.php/komunita/article/view/864
Understanding of money management is crucial for adolescence, especially in this generation. This gap increases the possibility that prospective customers will make speculative decisions that emphasize potential returns while overlooking possible losses. This community service program aimed to strengthen the financial literacy of prospective customers of PT Glori Investama Berjangka Surabaya and to examine transparent risk education as an ethical education-based marketing strategy. The program was delivered through workshops, interactive discussions, market simulations, and personal mentoring. Evaluation relied on initial observation, participant responses during simulations, discussion notes, and reflective assessment after the educational sessions. Quantitative pre-test and post-test scores are not reported because the underlying score sheets were not available for verification. Qualitative findings indicate that participants developed a more realistic understanding of market volatility, leverage risk, stop-loss discipline, proportional position sizing, and emotional control. Participants' questions also shifted from a primary focus on potential profit toward risk limits and the consequences of trading decisions.
